Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has won  Goal 50, a competition which is organized by popular football website Goal.com

The Website started  Goal 50 in the 2008, since it has been dominated by Real Madrid top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona hot-shot Lionel Messi. The Portuguese International and Argentina Captain has been winning individual honours for the best part if the last ten years or so,  while  La-liga pair now shared 7 Goal 50 eight trophies between them. Both superstars has been hailed as the two best player in the World. The only player outside Cristiano Ronaldo and  Lionel Messi, who managed to win Goal 50 was Dutch International Wesley Sneijder, after leading the charge of Inter Milan’s treble winning campaign in 2010.

Cristiano Ronaldo claimed the inaugural Goal 50 trophy in 2008, in that season he scored astonishing 42 goals in 49 games in all competitions, and helped Manchester United to win Champions League.

They won the historic treble,  after beating Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in the Champions league’s final. To admire the brilliance of the little magician, Lionel Messi was named as the winner of   Goal 50.

Wesley Sneijder was the integral part of the Inter Milan side which won the Champions League, Seria A and Italian Cup, he was overlooked for FIFA Ballon d’Or, however he  managed to get is hand on  Goal 50.

But next year it was the Messi, who came back on the top, with Barca winning La-Liga and defeated Manchester United for the Champions League in 2011.

Meanwhile, it was Cristiano Ronaldo, who named as the winner of Goal 50 in 2012, in the campaign in which Real Madrid earned 100 points in the La-Liga.

With Messi winning the award for season 2013-2014, while former Manchester United star won it following year, after leading the charge of Real Madrid’s Champions League  success.
