Wolfsburg Coach reacted to his side defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions league
Wolfsburg Coach Dieter Hecking says Real Madrid deserved to win against his side in the Champions league.
The Bundesliga side secured the victory 2-0 at home over Real Madrid, but Ronaldo’s brilliant hat-trick was enough to send German out of the Champions League, and Hecking feels Los Blancos was a better side.
“They deserved to go through, they won fairly. We didn’t get to play as we wanted. We weren’t so bad but we didn’t understand what had to be done, we gave the ball away and we knew that was dangerous,” Hecking said, AS reports.

“We have been unlucky because the last two goals were set-pieces and we should have defended better. We needed a goal to go through to the semis. Congratulations to Madrid, because they deserved to go through.”
“We failed in the one-on-ones, we lacked strength there. Madrid have very good forwards,” he noted.

“We have to continue working after a fantastic season in the Champions League. We’ve played to our possibilities.
“We should be proud. We deserved to reach the quarter-final. We’re troubled in the Bundesliga but we’ve grown in the Champions League. We lacked a little today but we leave Madrid with pride.”
While, Real Madrid defender Marcelo thanks fans for acting as a 12th man during their 3-0 over Wolfsburg, which was enough to send them in the Semi Final.
“It was a fantastic night,” the left-back said after the game.
“The fans were phenomenal and without them we wouldn’t have been able to turn the game around.
“It was a very difficult night. In the games in the Champions League you have to suffer.
“No team gets to the semi-finals without suffering.
“We played well and gave another side of ourselves. Cristiano is a great player.
