In this video, it seems that Ronaldo’s immense concentration which is displayed on the field has failed him, as he gets locked out of his hotel room. It starts with Ronaldo trying to be nice and considerate, and taking out his room service. That’s when the hotel room’s door locks behind him.
And he is wearing nothing more than his skimpy underwear in this moment of misfortune.
Thankfully, an employee of the hotel comes by to find him in that condition, and helps him out. However, she does take a snap of the player. Don’t worry, no disciplinary action is taken against her for this, nor does she have to get any sharp reminder to respect the privacy of her guests. Because this is not the real world.
Instead, Ronaldo gives her a wry smile. He soon succeeds in putting on some clothes. But of course, by this time, his sneaky snap goes viral. O course, this being an ad film for the TV, nothing serious happens as a result of this. In this campaign, Ronaldo is endorsing Altice, a popular internet service provider in the United States.
According to Matt Lake, chief marketing officer of Altice, their customers in the US have been using their super-fast broadband service, but now their motive is to let the people outside the US, where they offer their services in 15 states. So, they have decided to heighten their profile in these places.
And their innovative way to connect with more customers includes Ronaldo in a fun and funny, lighthearted manner. They have also quite strategically used Ronaldo because he has a huge impact on the digital world of today. Ronaldo, after all, is the third highest earner through Instagram posts. What better way to catch attention that to have Ronaldo stripped down to his underwear?
