Ronaldo will end career at Real Madrid, says former teammate Salgado

Almost every year, before the beginning of a new season of club football, there is one big question that shakes the media and the world of soccer – will Ronaldo return to Real Madrid? Will Manchester United pay him a historical amount or signing amount, and steal him away from the Spanish club?

Ronaldo’s former teammate at Real Madrid, Michel Salgado, has an opinion in this regard that offers a finite future plan. He feels that the Portuguese player will end his football club only at Real Madrid. thus, in very simple words, he ruled out all possibilities of the player to move out of Spain and leave the record European football champions.

In the past couple of years, Ronaldo has been linked a number of times to his former club, Manchester United, and French giants, Paris Saint-Germain. Many speculations and claims have been made regarding the amount of money he is being offered, indicating that the whopping sum is the reason behind his move.

However, this time around, before the start of the 2017-18 season, this rumour came back to hit the headlines, only with more substantial reason to back it. Ronaldo has been accused of tax evasion by the Spanish authorities, which was obviously an insulting charge to be brought upon a player of his stature.

Plus, the only support that Real Madrid provided was a statement that they believe that Ronaldo will be able to prove his innocence. Altogether, Ronaldo was not happy, and he mentioned that to his friends at a dinner. Since then, Portuguese and Spanish media has been claiming that Ronaldo will be leaving the Spanish club.

The recent raid of Ronaldo’s yacht, and the player’s complete silence in this regard, have further added fuel to the fire. However, it seems that all that is in the past, as neither the Real Madrid players, nor the club authorities, have any concern left about his possible exit. The players, who know their star teammate well, seem to believe that this is just like those situations where Ronaldo gets upset and realizes later that he has over-reacted.

Salgado, while talking to ESPNFC at the Star Sixes in London, mentioned that he cannot see Ronaldo in another jersey, at least in top football. However, he did not completely rule out the possibility of the player joining another league like the US, after his retirement from Real Madrid. But, he was rather firm in his belief that in top football in Europe, Ronaldo will not change clubs, because he is comfortable here.

Earlier, former Brazilian superstar Ronaldo Nazario, too, said something similar, as he said that Ronaldo will not get the security and comfort he gets at real Madrid in any other club, and that the player would most likely not leave the Spanish club, even though rumours suggest otherwise.

41-year-old Salgado has had 48 caps for Spain, and he played with Ronaldo for a brief period of time back in 2009, before he joined English Premier League club Blackburn Rovers.
