Former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Cristiano Ronaldo will again outscore Barcelona rival Lionel Messi and complete as the top scorer in La Liga this season.
Carlo, who lead Ronaldo the previous two seasons at Madrid before being released in May following a trophy-less year, is not worried by the Portugal chief’s inability to score in the opening two group matches. Under Ancelotti, Ronaldo netted 48 goals in 35 association competitions last season to beat Messi to the applauded Pichichi trophy for La Liga’s top scorer.
Ronaldo, 30, is in his seventh battle with the Spanish capital side and appreciated one of his best battles in 2014-15 after he scored 61 goals in all rivalries – his best return at Real since his landing from Manchester United in 2009.
