Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked his fans for the support they have given him during what he describes as a ‘tough’ year.

The Portuguese broke up with girlfriend Irina Shayk, with speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding the split rife ever since.

On the pitch, his goalscoring hasn’t slowed down, notching another 61 goals for Real Madrid in the 2014/15 season.

It has, however, been an under-par season for Los Blancos, as they failed to win any of the three major honours available.

If Clasico rivals Barcelona beat Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday, the Catalan side will have claimed all three titles for themselves.
In a video, Ronaldo said: “Hi fans. This message is for you.

“Well guys, thank you very much for your support. For supporting me this year. It was tough.

“But you’re always there. You showed that you’re always loyal.

“I’m here, relaxing, my kid is behind me in the pool.

“We’re still together, day by day, month by month, year by year. Thank you, guys.”
