Morientes believes Ronaldo is happy at Real Madrid

Former Los Blancos striker Fernando Morientes seems to believe that the clubs star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, is “so happy” at Real Madrid that he could never leave the club. He thinks that the player will not leave the Champions League winning team, he is happy with the club, and it is a mutual feeling, as the club is delighted with their superstar forward.
In the past couple of months, Ronaldo has been repeatedly linked with his former club, Manchester United, as well as with other clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, or even Chinese clubs. However, during the past week or so, the ideas of Ronaldo’s exit from Real Madrid seem like they are ideas of the past.

United manager Jose Mourinho said in an interview last week that the English club never planned to bring Ronaldo in, since they know how important he is to Real Madrid, and that roping him in would be “Mission Impossible”! Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had earlier said that Ronaldo would probably not leave the club, and even allegedly mentioned to his friends in the media that they had not received any offer for Ronaldo.

Morientes, the former Real Madrid player who helped Madrid win three Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles, seems to have no doubt that Ronaldo will continue to play at the European champions. At the Star Sixes tournament, he said that he has not yet heard Cristiano saying he wants to leave the club.

He added that he is aware of how these things work; at the end of each season, there are several speculations and rumours surrounding the star players of a team. And Ronaldo is one of those star players. He feels calm because Ronaldo himself has not spoken. When he does, it things will be sorted.

However, Morientes further added that he is pretty sure that Ronaldo is happy at the club, and Real Madrid, too, is happy with the player. So, things will get complicated if he leaves the club. The four time Ballon d’Or winner has helped Real Madrid claim several trophies, including two La Liga titles, and three Champions Leagues, two of which were done consecutively, i.e. last year and this year, making Real Madrid the first team to have this achievement. Because of his achievements, both for his team and individually, he is lined up for the Ballon d’Or, to be declared at the end of the year.
